The International Micro μ Festival is hosting the Student Competition section for the third consecutive year. Twelve years ago, it was the first time that Athens, Thessaloniki and Rhodes screened the films of the 2nd Micro μ Festival. This year, the audience in these cities will have the opportunity to choose the "Favorite Student Film" of the year. The twelve selected, by the festival selection committee, student short films of young Greek filmmakers will be screened on 12th & 13th of October.
The screening of the Student Section is focusing in promoting the new generation of film makers and allow them to share their first filming steps to the Micro μ’s audience. The love that this newborn section accepted in Athens and Thessaloniki the two previous years, led the organizing committee to expand the geographical screening to more cities, starting this year from Rhodes.
The award of the Favorite Student film attends to enable the film maker’s creativity and it is a NikonZ 30 VLOGGERKIT Camera with 16-50mmf3.5-6.3 VR worth 899€ from DAMKALIDIS S.A.

SYNOPSIS
An interview with the father of Nikos Sampanis, who was fatally shot during a police pursuit. The film deals with the pain of loss and puts in the spotlight the consequences of prejudices and racism towards a vulnerable social group. This project was created during the Video & Storytelling LAb, designed & implemented by Karpos, Center for Education and Intercultural Communication with the support of UNHCR Greece. .

SYNOPSIS
A girl is looking for a way to break the vicious cycle of her routine. She lives the same day over and overagain.The world she lives in is gloomy and colorless. As time goes by, the pace gets higher and the girl finds herself in a nightmare, trapped on an alarm clock, on which different scenes of her routine come to life and attack her. The only thing that is colorful in her world is her cat, Joy, who helps her wake up from the nightmare and in the end, find the way-out that she was looking for.
