IMμF 2025 Student Competition
Micro μ returns
The International Micro μ Festival, faithful to its autumn rendezvous with its audience, returns to movie theaters for the fifteenth year.
The main event of IMμF 2025, its “live” competition section, will be screened on Saturday, September 27. On the other days, viewers will have the opportunity to enjoy and vote for their favorite Greek Student film in the now-established student section of Micro μ.
More specifically, on Friday, September 26, at 20:00, the audience of Micro μ Festival in Athens and Thessaloniki will have the chance to watch twelve fresh creations. Twelve works by debut directors, who show great promise and are expected to engage us in the future with their unique perspective. The student program holds special significance, as it gives young artists a platform to present their ideas. With limited resources but abundant passion, they deliver works that rival professional productions, proving that talent and creativity know no bounds. That is why the student program has been beloved since its very first year at Micro μ and continues to grow, presenting increasingly accomplished films each time, selected from an ever-expanding pool of submissions.

SHORT SYNOPSIS
The Land of Wanting More is a video-diary, inspired by Wim Wenders’ Paris, Texas, as a study on destigmatizing female sexuality. Shot in cinéma vérité style, the camera follows women’s everyday lives through spontaneous handheld shots and personal reflections. The film moves between desire, shame, resilience, and love, turning each moment into an intimate confession and at the same time a silent revolution—an ode to the complex facets of female existence, woven between longing, waiting, and realization.
